How the EA works
Apex Velocity trades gold on the M1 chart with two engines, early take-profit (magic number 11111) and profit pursuit (22222). Each engine builds a basket by averaging and closes it with a trailing exit. There is no stop-loss for a basket.
Installation and first run
- Download the EA for your platform with the buttons below. MT4: copy the .ex4 file into the
MQL4/Expertsfolder. MT5: copy the .ex5 file into theMQL5/Expertsfolder (File → Open Data Folder). The MT5 version runs on hedging accounts only; use the gold symbol shown in Market Watch. - In MT4/MT5, open Tools → Options → Expert Advisors and allow WebRequest for
https://luxjpn.com. The EA uses it to check that your account is approved. - Open the M1 chart of gold (
XAUUSDcon an HFM Cent account), attach the EA and turn on AutoTrading. The panel shows Auth=OK when the account is approved. - MT4/MT5 has to stay open for the EA to trade. Use a PC that stays on, or a Windows VPS. The phone app cannot run an EA.
Step by step with pictures (MT4 / MT5)
The pictures show MT4 in English. MT5 works the same way; where a label differs, it is noted under the step. Labels can differ slightly between versions.
1Put the EA file in the Experts folder
In MT4/MT5 choose File → Open Data Folder. Open MQL4 → Experts and copy the downloaded .ex4 file there. Then restart MT4/MT5, or right-click Expert Advisors in the Navigator and choose Refresh.
MT5: the folder is MQL5 → Experts and the file is .ex5.
2Allow WebRequest for luxjpn.com
Choose Tools → Options and open the Expert Advisors tab. Tick “Allow automated trading” and “Allow WebRequest for listed URL”, double-click the empty row of the list, type https://luxjpn.com and click OK. Without it the EA cannot check your approval.
MT5: the first box is called “Allow algorithmic trading”.
3Open a gold M1 chart
Open the Market Watch (Ctrl+M), right-click XAUUSDc and choose Chart Window. Then click M1 on the timeframe bar. If gold is not listed, right-click the Market Watch and choose Show All.
MT5: the same steps. On HFM’s MT5, use the gold symbol shown in the Market Watch.
4Drag the EA onto the chart
Open the Navigator (Ctrl+N), expand Expert Advisors and drag Apex Velocity onto the gold M1 chart. On the Common tab tick “Allow live trading”, leave the Inputs at their defaults and click OK.
MT5: the box on the Common tab is called “Allow Algo Trading”.
5Switch on AutoTrading and check the chart
Click AutoTrading on the toolbar so that it turns green. A smiling face appears at the top right of the chart, and once your account is approved the EA panel shows Auth=OK.
MT5: the button is called Algo Trading, and a blue cap appears next to the EA name.
All parameters
These are the inputs you see in MT4/MT5, with their defaults. For a first run, leave everything as it is. Distances are in points: on gold, 100 points is $1.00.

Yellow line | The trailing exit level of a basket that is in profit. |
Control from your phone
In the MT4/MT5 phone app, place a Buy Limit order on gold at one of the prices below. The EA reads it as a signal, acts, and deletes the order. These prices are so far from the market that the order is never filled.
| Buy Limit price | What the EA does |
|---|---|
| 1.00 | Closes all positions |
| 2.00 | Closes buy positions only |
| 3.00 | Closes sell positions only |
| 4.00 | Stops the EA: no new baskets and no averaging |
| 5.00 | Resumes the EA after 4.00 |
| 6.00 | Pauses new baskets only; open baskets keep running |
| 7.00 | Allows new baskets again after 6.00 |
Example: send 4.00 before a major news release and 5.00 when the market has calmed down. To get out quickly, send 1.00.
Account size and cautions
| Account type | Cent |
|---|---|
| Platform | MT4 / MT5 |
| Gold symbol | XAUUSDc |
| Size of 1 lot | 1 ounce |
| Maximum leverage | 1:2000 |
| Deposit | Account | Initial lot |
|---|---|---|
| $700 | HFM Cent | 0.01 |
| $7,000 | HFM Cent | 0.1 |
| $70,000 | HFM Premium | 0.01 |
| $700,000 | HFM Premium | 0.1 |
- Keep the deposit and the lot in proportion. A larger lot on the same deposit runs out of margin sooner.
- Consider stopping the EA (4.00) around major news releases and when a large one-way move is likely.
- A Cent account shows balances and profits in US cents (100 = $1). This does not change how the EA trades.
- The track record on this site is a demo account. A real account will not produce identical results.
Troubleshooting
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| WebRequest URL : NOT added | In MT4/MT5, open Tools → Options → Expert Advisors, add https://luxjpn.com to “Allow WebRequest for listed URL”, then attach the EA again. |
| Account : NOT approved | The account number is not approved yet. Submit it on the Get started page and use “Check status”. The EA starts by itself after the approval. |
| DEMO ACCOUNTS ARE NOT SUPPORTED | The EA runs on real accounts only. Open a real HFM Cent account. |
| Cannot reach the authorization server | Check the internet connection and wait a few minutes. The EA tries again by itself. |
| WRONG CHART | Attach the EA to the M1 chart of gold (XAUUSDc on an HFM Cent account). |
| No trades | Check that AutoTrading is on, and read the Reason line on the chart: outside trading hours, wide spread, low margin level or a pause after a spike. |
| “Not found” after Check status | The number has not been submitted, or it was typed differently. Submit it again. |
| Still “Pending” after 24 hours | The account was probably not opened through the link on this site. Open a new account with the button and submit the new number. |
Start with the account
The EA can only be approved on an account opened through our link, so the account comes first.
